Drew Peterson Arrested! Being held on 20 Million Bail

Drew Peterson was arrested today for the murder of his 3rd wife, Kathleen Savio.

According to the Herald News, The state police took down Drew Peterson at a busy Bolingbrook intersection Thursday evening only moments after he said goodbye to his son – possibly for the last time as a free man.

Peterson, 55, was charged with murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio. An indictment for two counts of first degree murder was handed down the same day as his arrest

Not that the heavy charges appeared to have gotten Peterson too down as he was led into District 5 State Police headquarters immediately after his arrest near the intersection of Lily Cache Lane and Weber Road about 5:30 p.m. At least not so down that he could not crack another joke.

"I should have returned those library books," Peterson said as he shook his head.

Well, it's about time!

So how many children DOES he have and how does he support them all, being an ex-cop? Can't imagine who would hire him----or marry him!

He sure had a thing for the young women, doesn't he?

It will be good to finally see him without the smirk on his face.

"I should have returned those library books?"What an arrogant prick! He deserves anything he gets in jail ... remember, ex-cops aren't exactly Mr. Popularity in prison, even though in the prison hierarchy his crimes are no big deal.

Too bad he's cross-country from our friend Harvey. They could share advice on how to "handle" women.

He is soooo unattractive. I don't understand why any woman would want to marry him.

I read the full article and a comment posted mentioned wasted taxpayer money on the Fox case in Wilmington.

Anyone know what that case was about? The comment also mentioned
"here say" (posters word, not mine)

I was surprised to hear Peterson was arrested. Thought it would never happen. I thought he probably had dirt on other LE and they would sweep it under the carpet.

Glad that isn't the case. I hope this brings some relief to Kathleen's family and helps to bring Stacy home.

Does anyone know why 2 counts of first degree murder? I may be stupid here but can't you only murder someone once?

I am glad to see this finally and I hope that charges will be forthcomming for 4th wife Stacy.

Hope someone can answer my above question.

Sprocket,Do you think that he will
give it up? LE waited a long time to bring charges. His lawyer said he passed a polygraph.I hope that
they have what it takes to put him away.

Drew is being housed in the Will County Adult Detention Facility. His current inmate number attached to him is: 20090003825. The case number is: W09CF1048.

Unfortunately, I don't have the resources to pull up stakes and travel to Illinois to cover this case. Ah, perhaps to dream that I could.

However, there may be some true crime lovers out there who are considering attending the a few or all of the pretrial hearings. If you are considering attending any of Drew Peterson's hearings and would like to take the extra step of writing about your experiences for T&T, we'd love to hear from you.

Drew Peterson will never confess. That's my opinion. I would be quite surprised if he did.

The ONLY way I think it would be possible for him to admit guilt was if the death penalty was on the table and he made a deal to avoid it. Understand though, I think even that is a very remote possibility.

Casey Anthony would not deal, remember?

Speaking of attractiveness. You have to understand that there are some people who are yearning for attention, any attention. It's my opinion that Peterson's last "engagement" was a looking for a father figure and someone to help raise her children.

And, understand that Drew has consistently pursued relationships where there was a significant age, financial and maturity disparity. (Much like Phil Spector dating significantly younger waitresses.)

Are there THAT many younger and attractive women who like some old guy with huge bags about their eyes? Plus he has a houseful of kids. I don't understand, it must be his magnetic personality.

Sprocket's right about Drew not confessing. This is part of a sociopathic personality--everything is about 'me, me, me' and 'I can do no wrong' at the expense of everyone else. This is exactly what Spector and Casey Anthony have in common with Drew, except where Anthony & Drew killed with forethought, Spector surprised himself (and poor Lana) with menacing with a gun as he had done for so many years and the gun accidently went off. It is a very strange and sad coincidence that we are seeing so many of these types all at once these days.

The Criminal Report Daily (link on the right) has this detail about the two charges:

QUOTE:
"The grand jury that was impaneled to meet on Thursdays to investigate the death of Kathleen Savio and the disappearance of Stacy Peterson returned a two-count bill of indictment today, charging two counts of first-degree murder: one on the theory of intentionally killing, the second on knowingly doing an act to cause great bodily harm," Glasgow said at an impromptu press conference yesterday evening. "I appeared before Judge Daniel Rosak this afternoon and requested a bond in the amount of $20 million, which Judge Rosak granted without question."

Coverage of Peterson Trial:

There is a possibility that one of our guest writers will be able to cover some of the Peterson pretrial hearings.

When I know more, I'll post it.

I was often attracted to older men (10-20 or so years older) when I was younger. If a young woman (especially one with low self-esteem) registers some sort of attraction (whether she's aware of it or not) to a guy like Drew who can read her body language simply because he IS older and more experienced, he can probably figure exactly how to play to her emotional needs, making her feel mature, desirable, protected and pampered. It can be heady stuff, and it makes some young women easy prey for older guys like Drew. An older man is usually delighted by attention from a sexy young woman who practically worships him (and does not yet have the kind of life experience to easily recognize a guy like Drew for what he is). If she's actively coming on to HIM, it can be pretty hard to resist, I would think, whether or not he's a bad guy.

Now I'm a woman-of-a-certain-age. I sometimes look at a guy and think "he's attractive, but he's kind of old." Then I realize he's probably MY age (or possibly YOUNGER!. It's just that he doesn't dye his hair like I do. LOL!
