Melissa Huckaby Finally Pleads

On Tuesday, prosecutors filed a motion requesting the Judge to enter a plea for Huckaby if she refused to. In a short hearing yesterday, Huckaby finally entered a not guilty plea to all charges relating to the rape and death of Sandra Cantu as well as additional drug charges involving another young girl and an adult male.

Huckaby's preliminary hearing begins Sept. 24 and is expected to last at least six days over the course of three weeks, according to Judge Linda Lofthus. The hearing will be held on Thursdays and Fridays for three consecutive weeks.

It was observed that Huckaby smiled several times during the hearing and made small talk.

Meanwhile the custody battle for Huckaby’s daughter continues with her grandparents seeking custody of Madison as well as her biological father, Johnny Huckaby.

The family court case will be heard in Orange County on July 6.

I take it John Huckaby lives in Orange Co, which is why the custody battle will be waged there.

I'm betting that hearing will be real interesting, seeing as how there appear to be investigations into Lane Lawless's past church affiliations, and allegations of child abuse occurring at those organizations.

I'm going to try to find out which courthouse the case will be heard at.

Probably Lamoreaux Justice Center 341 The City Drive South Orange, CA 92868-3205. Or in Santa Ana... Central Justice Center 700 Civic Center Drive West Santa Ana, CA 92701 - that's where they hear family law. (too much experience I've had in both with my ex!) My guess due to the interest of press would put them in SA- but one never knows. Fortunately there are some excellent minds (judges) in both.

According to the Superior Court of Orange County's web site, the case will be heard at the Lamoreaux Justice Center, in Dept. L62, Commissioner Walter Daniel Posey's courtroom.

Judy and Brian Lawless, Madison's grandparents, live in Cypress, CA. Madison has been with them since Huckaby’s April 10 arrest. Madison also lived there from 2004 to 2008.

Johnny Huckaby, the biological father lives outside Little Rock, Arkansas

Court Commissioner Walter Posey initially granted Johnny Huckaby, 25, custody of his daughter on April 20, but withdrew the order until the hearing is held.

My apologies for referring to Madison as Cameron in the entry - do not type while reading another story, lol.

Melissa Huckabys case should have an open trial, and it seems like this woman has to be 'mental' for whatever the cause. And she should be held fully accountable for it. Just because she did a very strange and out-of-character deed,(if she did), should not translate into some charge that its not a murder. But watch the lawyers say she did not 'intend' to kill the girl, so its not 'murder'. And since its so sick what she did, then lawyers will say shes not right in the head. So, off to a funny farm, and we all pay for it. ( Maybe we all need to bring her an ice cream!) Finally, the whole thing kicks back to the rest of us, who do want to execute Melissa because shes already so pathetic. We need out villians remaining hostile and defying. This woman is all broken up at the seams, everyone knows it.
We remain in pain ourselves over what people are actually like.
What a mess.
