Christian-Newsom Case: Latest Ruling on Retrials

The ruling came down today as to who will receive a new trial in the brutal murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

Only one defendant, George Thomas will receive a new trial.  Cobbins and Davidson's guilty verdicts will stand.

Thank you David - reading the report - just IMPOSSIBLE to think about Davidson claiming "consensual sex" took place - I am glad the families don't have to listen to that again.

I believe Davidson's attorneys have already made an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, but the Court refused to hear it. They will appeal this latest decision regarding the verdicts to the Tennessee Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court again.

After this, another team of lawyers will be appointed for Davidson (at taxpayer's expense) and another series of appeals will begin.

It will likely take 20 years or more for Davidson to come close to receiving the death penalty. This assumes the death penalty isn't abolished by that time.
