I could understand why the defense wanted the defendant referred to by her name. I have a difficult time keeping the names straight. Ruetten/Rasmussen. Sherri Rae/Stephanie. For me, much easier to follow reading defendant/Sherri-Rae. We must never forget the victim's name. As for the voir dire, two years ago as a family member of the victim, that is exactly what they did in picking the jury.
