Casey Anthony: Hearing Set For Next Week

It's been a relatively quiet time in the case against Casey Anthony. Local radio station WDBO has just posted that there will be a hearing on the case on Friday, August 21st. According to the article the hearing will deal with four motions:

The hearing is set for 9:30 AM in Judge Stan Strickland's courtroom.

Trials and Tribulations will be following the hearing if it is broadcast or streamed live.

Tim Miller as a defense witness? Blocking Padilla? Can you explain this a bit more, Sprocket, or should I bite the bullet and wade through a "brazillion" pages at Scared Monkeys to find out why they would want to do either of those things?

Hi Ronni,

ritanita is covering the case. I've only read a few documents concerning the case and that was last year.

I believe ritanita will be following the hearing (most likely, streamed live on the net)and give us the skinny on what makes up the defense arguments to exclude.

Ronni,

I've been on a mental summer vacation and haven't had a chance to go through the bazillion pages yet. They are sitting on my kitchen table right now and I'm gearing up to go through them this week.

I hope to post a "preview" early next week when I've had time to turn my brains on again!

My initial feelings are that there's no chance Baez & Lyon will be able to get Padilla & Co. off the stand. They won't testify for the defense, that's for sure!

As far as the other two motions, I think the defense has a decent chance of getting most of what they want. They may not get all of Tim Miller's information, but they may get anything he has related to the Hidden Oaks area.

As far as Tony Lazarro, that motion wasn't publicized. I have a sneaking suspicion that it has to do with phone records Tony doesn't want them to have. We'll have to wait on that one!

Check in next week for an INFORMED opinion. :)

I can't wait to hear what Leonard Padilla has to say. Although, I believe we have heard a great deal of it from his appearances on Nancy Grace.

Thank you ritanita for keeping us updated. I greatly appreciate it.

I think we've all been waiting to see what Leonard Padilla has to say. It seems that almost every doc dump says his interviews will be released.

Apparently, Jose and the Angel of Death Row don't want what he or his cohorts have to offer.

According to all the legal eagles on the Florida stations have to say, this motion probably has no chance.

I've still got to read the papers to know for sure what they're using to try and block all this testimony.
