A Decomposing Child’s Body Has Been Found Near Anthony Home

In an area previously searched by EquuSearch and by LE, a utility worker located a child’s skull, and a bag in a wooded area and immediately called police.

Police are on the scene but have not said if the body is a young male or female.

The wooded area where the body was found is about 20 houses down from the Anthony home.

Investigators are currently processing the scene.

Just got this news, have any children been reported missing in this area besides Caylee? As sad as it is to think she has been found, at least now Casey will spend the rest of her life in jail for what happened to this little girl. No deals for Casey put her away for life please, I wish she could still get a death sentence.

Mindy, if the body is Caylee, they may well be able to go for the death penalty.

Donchais thanks for the information, I did not realize she could still get the death penalty once it was taken off the table. I hope this is the case for Casey and she is put on death row.

Mindy,

The big issue is if they can determine the cause of death. If that can't, then no death penalty. If autopsy shows how she died then DP can come back. Police are saying the remains are badly decomposed.

I am visiting in Tampa and Fox News reported that a forensic anthropologist has been to the scene and identified the remains as a female of Caylee's age. Of course LE isn't giving that out.
A very sad day whether this is Caylee or not. Any idea where Trenton Ducket lived? I know his Dad was at the Anthony's home very early on.That's the only other missing Florida child that I know of in this age range.

Katfish,

Have watched all day. As mush as we all knew what happened to Caylee, this is so hard!

Kat, post your phone number...I won't publish, lol

I was thinking about Trenton Ducket too if this isn't Caylee's remains.

I was just going to say that as much as I'd love to see her get the death penalty, life is fine with me because she'll have to sit there.

But, then I thought to myself, she doesn't give a rat's ass!! She's sat here for what? Six months? She hasn't told the truth once. All she cares about is herself, and how she "just wants to go home".

If this is Caylee, she doesn't ever get to go home again. And as painful as it is to say, thank God she doesn't ever have to go home again because at least she will never have to suffer at the hands of that monster again.

I hope this is the body of Caylee, because at least we will know that she is gone. Isn't it funny how Casey kept telling her family that she believed that "Caylee is close to home". Well, if this is her, she really was close to home.
I hope that Casey never gets to see the light of day again!!

DR. G NOW HAS THE REMAINS ALONG WITH FBI "CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN"PEOPLE. AND BAEZ HAS FILED WITH THE COURT TO EXAMINE OR BE THERE WHEN THE REMAINS ARE EXAMINED. THE REMAINS HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO BE A FEMALE AND DUCT TAPE WAS FOUND WRAPPED AROUND THE MOUTH AREA OF THE SKULL. CASEY APPARENTLY HAD AN ANXIETY ATTACK WHEN SHE HEARD THE NEWS AND IS UNDER SEDATION. SHERIFFS OFFICE SAYS THERE ARE NO OTHER MISSING CHILDREN REPORTED. THE ANTHONY HOME IS NOW A CRIME SCENE AND THEY ARE AWAITING A SEARCH WARRANT. GEORGE AND CINDY ARE AT SHERIFFS OFFICE AND NOT ALLOWED INTO THEIR HOME.

Thanks, Shari.

I'm waiting on the results as are we all. Let's hope it is little Caylee and she can rest in peace in a place where she will be remembered.

When I heard about the duct tape, the first thought that crossed my mind was that she was purpously silenced.

It's going to be a whole new case at this point.

the reason they are calling the skull a small child is because its VERY HARD to tell the difference between genders when they are that young. if there is soft tissue available that makes it easier. if a full body was found they would look at the pelvis but again it might be very difficult to determine gender because of the young age.

it is very hard to determine gender at such a young age from simply a skull.

No attempt to mislead about gender simply reporting what Fox reported.

Still, if 2+2 still=4 this is most likely little Caylee.
poor baby, who ever it is I hope she/he didn't suffer. :(

At some point in the case, it was reported that Casey Anthony commented that law enforcement had not even found the clothes that Caylee was last wearing, making it sound as though the child and clothes would be in separate locations. Oddly enough, there were no articles of clothing found in the bag with the remains.

The area where the remains were found is also an area that Casey was known to "hang out" when she was in high school.

I am sure that if the remains are found to be little Caylee, her mother (I use that term very loosely) will likely try to place the blame on someone else, perhaps "Zanny the Nanny."

I also understand that the Anthony home is considered a crime scene and that they are looking to find similar trash bags at the Anthony home, but one could get the bag from anywhere. Have the police considered that the bag and the duct tape could have come from the home of her prior "boyfriend" Tony Lazaros? Or from one of the other many places that she stayed during this month?

My heart goes out to the grandparents. I am waiting to see if Cindy Anthony takes a different stand if the remains are those of Caylee or if she will continue to support her daughter and claim that someone else did this and dumped the body close to their home to implicate Casey further.

Personally, I would not want to be in the position of the grandparents - how hard it must be to have to come to the realization that thieir granddaughter is gone and, most likely, their daughter is the perpetrator.

One of the bloggers said that if Casey gets life she will not have suffered enough. If she is guilty, it is likely that she did this to live the party life. She likes to be the center of everyone's attention, and it will be quite hard to do that spending life in a prison cell all alone (we all know that they will never be able to place her in general population for her own safety).

Evidently, she was so upset by the news that she asked for a sedative.
I think chloroform would have been the appropriate sedative, along with a nice dark car trunk, duct tape and a trash bag.

As if dumping your dead child's body in a trash bag isn't bad enough - the thought that this child was dumped without any clothes on makes this an even more sadistic scenario. That's more than "cold". I realize that this murderer didn't want any ties to link her to this child, but, this was truly a remoresless murder, not that clothes or even a blanket would have made it better, but it would have shown "some" remorse - maybe???

First off, Casey is Innocent until proven guilty so calling her a murderer is a mute point. Thats one of the major problems with our justice system today. They havent even determined if the remains are that of caylee and some of you are already calling casey a murderer. I am not saying that Casey is innocent nor am I saying that she is guilty (because I do not know - none of us know), that is for a jury of her peers to decide when it comes time for that (if it does). All I know is that everyone is always so quick to "speculate" and that is not what our country/justice system used to be about. This is a little girl and her mother we are talking about here folks, and although I hope and pray it is not caylee, it IS someones child they found. Keep that in mind

Do you think that the fact that Cayley was found naked implies she went through sexual torture prior to death?

And I agree that Casey's remark about the LE not even finding Cayley's clothes yet indicated that she knew that the clothes and the body were in two different places.

I heard that remark before the body was found and thought it was really odd and brazen.

Also--if you go back and watch the hours of interviews of the grandparents--at some point several weeks ago, Grandmother stops talking about Cayley and starts talking non-stop about Casey--it was at that point, I believe, that the grandparents knew that Cayley was dead. They started focusing their attention on keeping their daughter alive.

Anybody else have thoughts on this?

miSpeaking of a MOOT point,no one should kid themselves that the readers of this blog don't understand the presumption of innocence.IMO, that presumption applies to the court and the finders of fact(jury). As Americans we are free to come to whatever conclusions we wish whenever we wish.
Casey's defense team accept that this child is Caylee and have stated so publicly.Casey may be Caylee's birth mother but IMO Cindy raised this child to the ripe old age of two, if she hadn't reported her missing, noone would know she's gone. Any mother who misguides attempts to find her own child has something to hide....and it can't be something good she's hiding, can it?
