~Haut de la Garenne children's home
The 50-year-old ex-police officer, arrested yesterday has been released without charge. He was arrested on suspicion of serious crimes at Haut de la Garenne and elsewhere in Jersey.
Police issued a statement saying, "This man has now been released without charge, pending further inquiries into a number of “serious crimes".
"We cannot give any further details at this stage as there are no charges."
While serving as a Jersey police officer during the 1970s, he was a volunteer at the childcare home.
After leaving the police force, he took a position with Jersey children’s services in the 1980s. He worked there for more than 20 years and rose to a position as a senior care officer.
