Sandra Cantu Not The Only Victim of Melissa Huckaby

10 weeks prior to the disappearance and murder of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu, another 7-year-old girl was reported missing from the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park.

On January 17th, the girl was reported missing by her family. According to the family, the girl had spent the afternoon with Melissa Huckaby without their permission.

The girl was returned to her home by a woman driving a purple Kia Sportage. Police towed a purple Kia Sportage registered to Melissa Huckaby shortly after she was arrested in Sandra's killing.

When the little girl returned home, the family reported her speech was slurred; she was falling down, sleeping, and crying a lot.

The family took the child to Sutter Tracy Memorial Hospital, where she was examined. The girl tested positive for benzodiazepine, a class of tranquilizer and muscle relaxant. The examination found no sign of molestation.

Police have tied the reported abduction to the murder case of Sandra Cantu, but Tracy police Sgt. Tony Sheneman said he can’t comment on the reported abduction in January because it’s part of the ongoing murder investigation.

Judge in Huckaby Cases Recuses Himself

According to the San Joaquin County Superior Court, “The Honorable Terrence Van Oss has recused himself.”

No explanation has been given, however it may be due to a conflict between the judge and Huckaby’s prosecutor.

Superior Court Judge Linda Lofthus will now take up the case. Lofthus will preside over the next hearing which will be held on Friday.

Thank you for reporting this Donchais. When it was first reported she was arrested for the Cantu murder both my husband and I had a feeling it wasn't the first time she had done something like this. We just knew something else would come out of the wood work.

In Canada, this case isn't covered as much as the Anthony case, so we really appreciate you keeping those of us informed who don't live down in the USA..

Thank you donchais, for keeping our readers up-to-date on this case.

I have nothing to support this, only a gut suspicion that there was sexual abuse in Huckaby's childhood history.

I don't get it...the family of the 7 yr-old KNEW she had been with Huckaby...WHY was she not arrested for drugging the girl???

IF the child was with Huckaby and she was taken to a hospital right after Huckaby dropped her off, then why was Huckaby being protected. Why was she not arrested immediately and why did the parent(s) not insist. It appears to this reader that if Huckaby was picked up and arrested this would not have happened. What, the parent(s) had their child attending Sunday school class with this teacher. "NOT a religous Sunday school teacher, the daughter of a preacher" would do such a thing. I don't get it.

What the hell is wrong with the adults. That's the problem and Sandra may be alive today.
This woman would have been strung up if my daughter came home drugged just after being with Huckaby!

I'm just sick about this whole mess. This whole thing could have been prevented.

RIP Sandra.

As for Huckaby, there is a special place reserved in Hell for people like her.

Huckaby has just recently been tied to this girl's disappearance now that police have put 2 and 2 together.

When police investigated, the girl's mother apparently reeked of alcohol and possibly high on drugs.

Too many hours had passed before the girl was taken to the medical center to prove that it was Huckaby who gave the girl drugs.

Hope you can do something on Phillip Markoff, the med student charged with being the Craigslist killer.

Here on the East Coast, it is a much bigger story than the Huckaby one.

This angers me so much. I have a 7 year old daughter, and it is absolutely terrifying to think that you can send your child to go play with their playmate, and assume that they are okay, only for that parent to do something so horrific to them. These stories are everywhere. Is it safe for our children anywhere, other than our own homes? Often times we find its the childrens own parents causing their pain. My heart breaks each time a new story comes out like this. These children are innocent. This woman deserves nothing but the worst for the rest of her worthless life, and to burn in hell for all eternity after. And forgive me god, but I hope she gets it.
